Štampar Pro et Contra Chardonnay sur lie 2018 has a straw‑yellow colour with light green reflections. The nose is intense and layered: late‑harvest apple and pear varieties intertwined with yeasty bread‑crust and hazelnut aromas. The palate is rich, full yet with attractive freshness; the start shows creaminess, followed by lively and well‑measured acidity, and the finish dominated by oak spices, hazelnut after‑aroma and return of the initial creaminess. Variety: 100% Chardonnay, region: Međimurje – Hilly Croatia; soil: sandy‑clay; vinification: soft pressing, natural must sedimentation, controlled temperature fermentation; ageing: 8 months in medium‑toast 500 litre wood barrels. Alcohol 12.5% vol., residual sugar 2.2 g/l, total acidity 5.5 g/l. Pairing: oven‑baked fish, fish stews, veal roast, veal or lamb under the baking lid. Serve at 13‑14 °C.
